Team England
After the recent World Handball Championships in Portland, Oregon, England's mens team are now 5th in the world and the current ELA cup holders (Expulsim Ludere Association trophy for emerging nations). This was our target for 2009. The women's team have done one better and are currently 4th in the world and the ELA cup runners-up. The teams have achieved this goal through applying world-class conditioning programmes to the players in the existing squad, along with extensive time on court. Over the coming year we intend to identify new talent and consolidate our place among the world's 'magic top five'.

Our Aim
Targets were set for 2009 which although tough were attainable. We are pleased to announce we are smashing past our expectations and aim to build on our improvements next year. By achieving these goals by December 2009, Team England will have become more than a showcase for the sport, but a competitive and winning nation in the Handball world. In a little under three years we have risen up the world rankings from 15th to 5th; an exceptional achievement. The only way is up from here!
