Do you have to travel off-site for PE? Have minimal space for on-site sports? Pay lots for sports activities and equipment?

Handball

Handball is a low-cost, space efficient sport for inner city schools. Use existing walls in your school to mark out courts - after that all you need is a tennis ball to play. It means PE lessons can take place on-site and playgrounds become spaces for informal sporting activity. Most importantly, it saves you time, money and effort.

New initiative for London. Handball is a new urban sport for London schools which aims to increase sports participation, decrease obesity and tackle youth exclusion. It comes directly from New York where it is the number 1 city sport with over 10,000 regular youth players. It is fast, fun and exercises all parts of the body.

A Sport for All. Handball's low-cost and easy accessibility makes it a sport for all pupils, regardless of age, gender or background because pupils can play anywhere. England Handball believes that every London child deserves access to regular, high quality sporting opportunities at school and our aim is to support schools to do this.
